The Ontario Clean Water Agency is an agency of the Province of Ontario, reporting to the Ministry of the Environment. As the largest provider of water and wastewater services in Canada, we manage over 800 facilities from small well systems and lagoons to large water and wastewater treatment plants.
About the job
In this role you will provide a broad range of technical and administrative services, for the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of all incoming computer hardware. You will maintain up to date inventory of hardware and software and ensure the integrity of data is being met. You will create and maintain policies and procedures for the hardware maintenance and quality control of computers.
What you bring to the team
Knowledge:
• Information Technology Standards and Guidelines, best practices, standards and controls, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Principles and process standards to ensure that output meets with expectations, and is consistent with IT plans and goals.
• Position requires extensive knowledge and expertise in networked (LAN-WAN) /client server environments in a geographically model.
• Experience with multiple complex database, reporting and analytic systems.
• Strong customer service standards and procedures.
• Advanced level of expertise using Microsoft Office Suite applications
• The position requires knowledge of Mobile Device Management Solutions
• Extensive knowledge and experience in systems support, implementation and analysis of computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge and experience installing, configuring and managing Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10).
• Microsoft KMS Server administration and licensing
• Knowledge of Citrix/VMWare Thin Client virtualization technologies
Skills and abilities include:
• Good communication skills, teamwork and excellent customer service skills
• Advanced analytical interpretive reasoning and problem solving skills to assess, identify and coordinate/manage problems and incidents; to recommend solutions to meet user needs; to provide insight into impact of problems or planned changes; to conduct research, evaluate and recommend solutions to ensure compatibility with the current system and future changes
• Good project planning and project management skills to lead/conduct projects and major assignments
• Attention to detail, inter-personal skills, flexibility and adaptability
