Then consider this challenging opportunity with the Health Solutions Delivery Branch where you will provide senior level system testing services for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Health Services I&IT Cluster Claims Team.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this position, you will:

• Provide system testing services for ongoing maintenance and development of mission and business critical systems and custom applications in the provincial healthcare system.
• Review and analyze business and system requirements for systems solutions, prepare system test plans and test cases based on clients' detailed business requirements as well as system design specifications, participate in system design reviews and create appropriate test data.
• Conduct manual or automated testing of applications in a mainframe environments as well as online and batch jobs, verify test databases using SQL and develop testing recommendations.
• Create automated test scripts and modify existing scripts to support the testing specifications based on detailed business requirements and system design specifications.
• Write, edit and maintain test documentation and document system defects in a problem management system.
• Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of testing tools, environments and databases.
• Provide advice to clients on appropriate user acceptance tests and provide recommendations to the project leader as to acceptance or rejection of system components.

How do I qualify?

KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• You have knowledge of and experience in information technology such as industry standard systems development life cycles, methodologies and techniques to participate in the testing of information systems.
• You have an understanding and experience with testing and implementation processes to design and develop system testing plans, test suites and test cases, create and update test data, review test results, develop complete system testing documentation, implement enhanced systems and recommend changes to existing test procedures.
• You have demonstrated experience using IBM JCL, ISPF, Utilities as well as RDBMS experience (DB2/IMS/Oracle), COBOL.
• You have demonstrated experience with relational databases (Oracle,DB2).
• You have demonstrated experience with SQL.
• You have demonstrated experience with IBM Rational software for testing purposes.
• You have demonstrated level of experience conducting system testing by executing online and batch test scripts, manual online testing and executing batch jobs.

ANALYTICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS:

• You have analytical skills to determine the nature of issues or problems.
• You have the ability to select, interpret and integrate pertinent information.
• You have the ability to understand and analyze business requirements, and systems response documents, to design and execute test plans to ensure that the system functions properly and meets the business requirements.
• You have the ability to write test plans and test cases that are well-structured, easy to maintain, and easily understood by developers, business analysts and clients.
• You have research skills to isolate all elements and determine how they interact.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• You have communication and writing skills to explain, convey and present highly complex technical information, including explanation to non-technical business audiences.
• You have interpersonal skills to provide clarification with problems or complaints and skills to encourage compliance, promote acceptance and secure cooperation for a course of action, recommendation or proposal.
