If you answered yes to all the questions above, then the Ministry of Finance is looking for you! We need a highly motivated person to lead the Sales Tax Unit within the Corporate and Commodity Taxation Branch, who will advise the Minister of Finance and senior executives on the policy and legislative design of the Province's sales tax.
The Corporate and Commodity Taxation Branch also provides input into the Ontario Budget and various other major economic/fiscal government documents. In addition, the branch identifies opportunities to improve existing legislation and regulation, supports the Minister in the legislature during the passage of legislation and provides advice on requests for remission orders and Orders in Council for corporate, sales and commodity taxes.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead a team of professionals in providing policy analysis and legislative design advice on the Province's sales tax system.
• Provide strategic advice to the Minister of Finance and the Government in formulating sales tax policy.
• Develop legislative design options to meet tax policy objectives.
• Manage other sales tax policy, legislative issues and manage human / financial resources.
• Provide advice on how to translate tax policy into effective legislation.
• Assist the Minister in the passage of bills in the legislature.
• Manage and develop a team of professionals by promoting a productive team environment that reflects a culture of excellence, and an inclusive and diverse workplace.

• You are familiar with the Ontario's tax policies.
