The Treasury Board Secretariat, IT Source branch, is seeking a Financial Procurement Coordinator. We have an exciting opportunity available where you can apply your financial and procurement analysis and coordination expertise!

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Develop and establish financial planning, management, control and reporting processes and anticipate financial issues and provide advice to senior management.
• Coordinate budget development process and produce reports in accordance with financial accounting practices and requirements.
• Apply your financial management and procurement knowledge to the analysis of program and business development activities including development of new services and addition of new clients.
• Lead large-scale IT procurement initiatives by developing procurement plans, interpreting guidelines, coordinating services or resources requests and managing the process.
• Administer contracts, contractor invoices and coordinate payments as per contract terms and conditions.
• Lead matters related to project-procurement and resourcing, contract and vendor risk management, and the financial administration of these initiatives.

Please note: The current location for this position is in Toronto, however, Oshawa may be considered as an alternate location for part of the work week based on operational requirements and upon the successful applicant's request as per the Central Agencies Cluster's flex program.

How do I qualify?

Financial and Procurement Knowledge:

• You can administer government financial policies and directives to coordinate financial activities for the Cluster such as financial management, analysis, reporting, budgeting and risk management.
• You can apply knowledge of procurement and contract management policies to administer I& IT procurement initiatives to support large scale IT projects and provide procurement advice to management and staff.

Technical Knowledge:

• You have knowledge of software programs and financial performance measurement systems, tools and techniques to develop and support project procurement and financial reporting needs.
• You have knowledge of planning, development and financial and statistical analysis, techniques to monitor financial information, trends and impacts on financial systems.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• You have analytical and problem solving skills to anticipate, identify, and resolve financial planning, expenditure management and procurement-related issues.
• You can identify, investigate and resolve variance issues, ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and procurement records for audit purposes.
• You can develop and implement financial and procurement control systems and processes.

Communication Skills:

• You have written communication skills to prepare financial and contract management reports, briefing notes, business cases and presentation materials.
• You can provide consultation and advice on financial and procurement matters to internal and external stakeholders while developing and maintaining business relationships.

Computer Skills:

• You have knowledge and skills in computer systems and applications used in the processing and analysis of information to support the assessment of databases and reporting systems.
