About the job
• Process financial transactions in accounts payable for the institution
• Assist with the preparation of budget information by ensuring accounts are accurate
• Handle petty cash as required ensuring ensure accurate tracking, expenditures, procurement policies
• Perform financial duties using IFIS and other internal financial systems
What you bring to the team
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of government and Ministry accounting policies, financial records management, ability to maintain and track records/documentation, balance and reconcile general and cash accounts,
• Knowledge of financial administration policies and procedures
•Knowledge of estimates and budget procedures
Computer Skills:
• Experience with computerized financial information systems
• Experience with spreadsheets, database, and word processing software
• Ability to enter and update data, and prepare correspondence
Analytical and Problem Solving skills:
• Analytical and reasoning skills to verify financial information in reports, spreadsheets and other sources
• Analytical skills to identify accuracy of information
• Ability to analyze, and resolve discrepancies in offender financial accounts, accounts payable, journal entries and computerized ledgers
• Good arithmetic skills to calculate and reconcile documents relating to accounts payable
Oral/Written Communication skills:
• Oral communication skills to explain accounting procedures related to financial information systems, and accounts payable
