About the job

As a Senior Programmer Analyst / Senior Systems Tester, you will:

• Perform programming tasks using various industry-standard programming languages and operating systems and perform unit, system and acceptance testing tasks.
• Review clients' business requirements documents and prepare software and detailed design requirements documentation.
• Lead or assist with the implementation of new and enhanced systems.
• Maintain the integrity and effectiveness of development tools, environments and databases
• Provide expertise, advice and assistance to clients where necessary.
• Assist the team in the operational support of key applications and systems; including investigation and resolution of incidents, assessment of change requests, and prompt escalations of incidents.

What you bring to the team


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• You have demonstrated knowledge of IT industry-standard system development life cycle (SDLC), methodologies, techniques, architectures and technologies, experience in the development and maintenance of application software in a variety of environments and database management systems, e.g. Remedy AR, IBM WAS, Datapower, IBM IHS/Apache, DB2, Oracle, IBM JCL, COBOL, ISPF & IBM Utilities, IMS DB/TM;
• You have demonstrated knowledge of various programming languages, such as Java, HTML, SQL, COBOL;
• You have demonstrated experience in writing, editing and maintaining program, systems, user and operational documentation for assigned portions of a system;
• You have demonstrated experience in leading or assisting with the implementation of new and enhanced systems including ensuring the promotion of all system components into the appropriate staging areas, performing setup and configuration of Ministry applications during the development cycle to support unit testing.
• You have demonstrated experience assisting with the operational support of critical applications involving multiple integrated systems (network, firewalls, web application servers, mainframe, etc.).

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

• Demonstrated experience in analyzing business requirements and reviewing/preparing technical documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing root cause and resolution of system failures involving multiple systems and IT partners.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• You have proven analytical, oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
