About the job

In this role, you will:
• manage the flow of information and documents in the office of the Head
• coordinate responses and actions required on behalf of the Head through ongoing liaison with senior managers and staff
• manage the budget, forecasting, financial and variance reporting of the office's operating expenses
• coordinate meetings and conferences, and manage the Head's calendar of appointments
• coordinate and/or prepare briefings, correspondence, Cabinet submissions, and project reports
• manage the issues management and resolution tracking system

What you bring to the team


Administrative Knowledge and Skills

• you demonstrate experience in providing senior level executive support and services
• you have knowledge of strategic and operational planning, resource allocation and program development processes and practices
• you have demonstrated experience in managing budgets, forecasting and monthly reporting, and in reviewing, monitoring and tracking of expenditures
• you have demonstrated skills in effective issues resolution and in providing strategic advice, expertise and interpretation of policies to senior executives
• you have the ability to interpret human resources policies/guidelines and legislation such as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• you demonstrate interpersonal and oral communication skills to maintain effective relationships at various levels
• you demonstrate written communication skills to develop reports, submissions and plans

Planning and Organizational Skills

• you have planning and organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize work to meet deadlines

Computer Skills

• you have proficiency in the use of standard desktop computer tools including database systems and the Internet
