Are you interested in putting your compliance expertise to work so as to drive the Office of the Fairness Commissioner's risk based compliance program? This will involve assessing compliance against a modern regulator compliance program that ensures fair access for internationally trained professionals to registration practices of regulatory bodies. About the job
In this role, you will:
• manage a portfolio of regulatory bodies and conduct registration practice assessments
• participate in the development of the risk based compliance program to ensure compliance with the Fair Access to Regulated Professional and Compulsory Trades Act and the Regulated Health Professional Act
• work closely with the regulatory bodies in reviewing and assessing their registration practices to provide compliance advice
• participate in and implement stakeholder consultation, information sharing and training sessions
• develop briefing materials, reports and presentations for the Fairness Commissioner and to regulatory bodies
What you bring to the team
Compliance Expertise and Knowledge of Program Delivery
• You understand compliance programs to participate in the development and implementation of a risk based compliance program including standards and processes for measuring, evaluating and reporting on compliance with the legislation
• You are able to undertake compliance assessments to determine the level of compliance and recommend appropriate actions to the regulated body
• You can interpret and apply provincial and federal legislation including the Fair Access to Regulated Professions and Compulsory Trades Act, and the Regulated Health Professions Act
• You are able to manage a portfolio of regulated bodies, plan for compliance assessments, and participate in diverse projects to deliver the compliance program
Consultation and Communication Skills
• You have consultation and negotiation skills to develop relationships with regulatory bodies
• With your strong facilitation skills and diplomacy you can communicate mandates and issues where differing opinions may be prevalent
• You have strong oral and written communication skills to prepare and present standards and tools, compliance reports, briefing materials, presentations and correspondence
• With your presentation skills you can build understanding and awareness and provide advice to regulatory bodies, ministries, agencies and other organizations
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
You can:
• interpret and analyze a wide range of qualitative and quantitative data
• anticipate, identify and analyze emerging and immediate issues and provide options to address them
• synthesize data and convey recommendations to inform trends, issues and decision making
• identify and resolve complex, politically sensitive issues, assess their impact, and collaborate with management and/or staff in developing options and solutions
Computer Skills
• You have knowledge of computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, reports and correspondence for preparation of materials
