About the job
In this role, you will plan, organize, coordinate and manage the Information Technology, Business Solutions team function and activities for the Ontario Clean Water Agency in order to contribute to the success of the Agency's technology vision through the analysis, design, development, operation and maintenance of a range of complex, leading edge systems solutions. Occasional travel required to meet varies provincial stakeholders.

What we are looking for:
Knowledge
• Knowledge of management information systems applications, related methodologies, and reporting requirements to manage the Business Solutions group function
• Knowledge of how to plan and design new technology as they apply to new projects and applications; experience in proposal writing, and IT auditing
• Demonstrated knowledge and current expertise in providing application systems solutions, change management, release management and planning; aggressive/innovative problem management
• Knowledge in understanding the client's business to ensure credibility with both IT and the business; financial judgment ability to establish appropriate metrics, measures and business returns including ROI measures for projects
• Knowledge to suggest potential technical alternatives by staying abreast of evolving technologies and trends; adhere to existing IT policies and standards, and internal controls; software diagnostic knowledge
• General knowledge of Agency programs, operations and procedures and excellent analytical skills to advise the executive team on systems requirements to meet corporate goals and objectives
Skills and Ability include
• Excellent analytical skills to advise the executive team on systems requirements to meet corporate goals and objectives
• Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and manage the work of professional technical and operations staff to ensure systems plans are met on schedule and within budget
• Ability to synthesize systems activities of section staff with those in regional offices to ensure effective cost efficient delivery of systems functional activities
• Demonstrated skill to develop road maps and implementation strategies in a multi-platform, multi-location environment including cloud hosted services; understanding of the operating systems and applications interoperability
• Analytical problem solving skills; expert level project management experience/expertise on major enterprise initiatives

Please note that this position is under review as part of the Management Job Evaluation Plan (MJEP) Project. MJEP is a new job evaluation system for manager and non-bargaining specialist positions in the Ontario Public Service.
Implementation of the new system may impact the classification and salary range for this position. Employees will be notified of any impact prior to implementation.
