Plan, manage, direct and monitor the overall delivery of IT solutions and services to support the strategic and operational goals of WSIB. The IT Business Partner is also responsible for developing customer service excellence and building positive working relationships with key contacts across WSIB, vendors and service providers.

** Will be managing a team of IT Business Analysts, so this position is ideal for an IT Business Analyst who then moved into management positions **

What you bring to the team


Major Responsibilities:

1. Develop customer service excellence. Build and maintain positive working relationships with key contacts across WSIB, vendors and service providers.

2. Plan, Manage, Control all aspects of IT Projects to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget and meet client expectations.

3. Partner with internal stakeholders to understand their business strategies and collaborate to align business processes with information system technologies to help achieve those strategies and manage life cycle development for all enhancement requests to the systems. Actively participant in strategic planning sessions with internal stakeholders. Manage the relationship with internal stakeholders both within and outside the IT Cluster to ensure all development and support activities meet the needs of the business by allocating work, providing updates and reporting on results in a timely manner.

4. Manage the selection and/or development of applications, including the project management, proof of concepts, analysis of business requirements, design work, code and product configuration changes, testing and deployment, releasing new functionality to business applications, and sustainment of work to maintain the functionality of the applications as designed.

5. Partner with other IT areas in the Cluster to ensure end-to-end solutions and delivery are efficient and effective.

6. Partner with vendors / consultants and service providers to ensure successful collaboration to enhance delivery of IT solutions and services delivered to WSIB.

7. Ensure risk management, quality management and continuous improvement systems are established to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and cost benefit of services and programs.

8. Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.

9. Plan, manage and control the activities of the Business Solutions Services section which includes; annual planning of section projects and priorities, establishing operational policies and standards, problem solving and issues management for the section, ensuring section is adequately and competently staffed, identifying resource requirements, conducting the hiring process, allocating work, establishing and monitoring performance objectives, conducting performance reviews, and providing guidance and expertise to staff, and managing section employee relations matters.

10. Develop and administer section operating budget, authorize expenditures within approved budget and report on variances from approved plan as required. Recommend expenditures outside budget for approval. Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Job Requirements:

1. Education:
• Post-Secondary education in a technology related field such as: Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, and Engineering.
2. Experience
• 10 years' experience in the delivery of IT/business system solutions in a medium to large organization
• 5 years management experience
• Previous experience as an IT Business Analyst
