The Ministry of Transportation's Finance Branch is looking for financial experts to take on a leadership role in meeting the challenge.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Support policy development, program delivery and business case development through robust financial analysis, including complex modeling and scenario analysis
• Support the development of the ministry's Results-based Plan in conjunction with your client group
• Participate in and lead Treasury Board submissions, liaise with Treasury Board and other OPS offices
• Lead and support projects aimed at improving business processes and meeting corporate objectives
• Prepare reports, develop and deliver senior level presentations and provide strategic financial advice

How do I qualify?

Knowledge:

• You have comprehensive knowledge of the decision making process, budget and financial management processes and accounting principles.
• You have knowledge of complex financial analysis, and program planning in order to develop budgets

Analytical Skills:

• You have experience performing financial/cost benefit analysis, developing financial models with complex variables and conducting research to support decision-making and the development of policies/programs
• You have experience working with and interpreting financial and administrative guidelines, directives and processes

Communication skills:

• You have proven communication skills to prepare business cases and reports, develop and delivery presentations to Senior Management and provide training, instructions and advice
• You have consultation and negotiation skills to obtain agreement on business planning issues and promote approval of ministry submissions
• You have interpersonal and advisory skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships and lead consultations with stakeholders.
