Do you have senior level skills to provide expertise in the design and management of complex business and IT deliverables? Then consider these exciting opportunities with the Special Projects Branch.

What can I expect to do in this role?

- develop best practices documents, assessment data quality documents and training materials to support the submission of common assessment data
- manage business and IT deliverables in the planning, design, improvement and enhancement of systems and operations
- provide business specifications to support operational decisions on information technology systems and resources, including equipment, networks, systems, applications, databases and service delivery channels
- prepare annual budget estimates, business cases and RFPs
- make recommendations concerning IT solutions for processes, procedures and functions, and contingency planning
- modify methods, procedures, standards and guidelines ensuring alignment with legislation, programs and services
- manage risks to maintain viable systems

How do I qualify?

Technical Expertise

- you have demonstrated knowledge of and skills in IT standards, policies, trends and best practices, current and emerging technology, standards, development tools, business solutions, security, access and usability
- you have strong understanding of information management applications in the community care sectors and the broader health system
- you have an understanding of common assessments and their application in the community care, mental health and addictions, Long-Term Care Home sectors and the broader health system
- you have the ability to interpret and apply Ontario Health Reporting Standards (OHRS)

Communication and Consultation Skills

- you have excellent communication and consultation skills to respond to enquiries and liaise with a wide range of contacts in the resolution of issues
- you demonstrate persuasion, tact and negotiating skills
- you can clearly present information and explain technical concepts to audiences who may not be familiar with IT concepts and terminology
- you can prepare written submissions, business requirements, planning documents, reports, briefing materials and correspondence

Project Management and Planning Skills

- you have effective project management skills to plan, coordinate and lead multiple projects with competing deadlines
- you have knowledge of project methodologies and standards (e.g. PMBOK), software development lifecycle and Unified I&IT Project Methodology and the use of project management tools (e.g. MS Project /Planview)
- you can establish priorities and respond to high priority matters requiring immediate attention

Analytical, Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills

- you have superior analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to conceptualize and evaluate business and IT options, solutions and performance metrics
- you can understand business processes of the community care sectors and develop recommendations/integrated solutions to meet legislative and business needs
- ability to prepare options analysis and identify gaps and recommendations
- you have an understanding of policies and procedures governing contract administration to coordinate agreements with suppliers of goods and services
