The Ministry of Education, Robarts School for the Deaf, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch in London, requires ASL-English Interpreters to work on an on-call as needed basis, to provide interpreting services in educational and resource services programs for students and staff who do not share the same language or culture.

• Provide interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in various settings.
• Provide interpreting services for administrative and professional staff in sensitive and demanding situations.
• Provide interpreting services for training sessions and workshops.

• Graduation from an Interpreter Training Program
• Fluency in American Sign Language and EnglishKnowledge and Skills:
Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements:
• Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada.
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience interpreting in both small and large group settings.
• Ability to operate a fully programmable computer.
• Ability to work on an as needed basis.
