About the job

In this position you will:

• Plan and provide project management for a large-scale, multi-year, high-profile and high risk project or multiple, concurrent mid-sized, medium-term projects to meet critical client and business requirements.
• Provide overall team leadership, strategic advice and guidance to cross-functional, multi-disciplinary project team members through all phases of the project.
• Manage and direct the work of project staff. Plans and schedules assignments; monitors and reviews work for achievement of objectives, ensuring completion of work within assigned deadlines.
• Provide overall leadership and direction of business needs analyses and identification of client and business/technology requirements.
• Provide management of non-project related enhancement and operations.

What you bring to the team


PROJECT MANAGEMENT KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies including planning and control techniques, tools, standards and best practices to provide project management for a long-term, large multi-year project, multiple concurrent mid-sized, medium-tier project and small-scale projects

NON-PROJECT RELATED ENHANCEMENTS AND OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated experience in providing additional functionalities to existing systems or make change or improvement to existing configurations/ functionalities
• Demonstrated experience with the management of service requests from the users of the systems that support business operation, troubleshooting and other work required to repair a production incident to restore services to normal operations
• Leadership skills to conduct in-depth test and analysis in collaboration with system vendor(s) for Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products to determine the root cause of a break/fix in a system, and recommend courses of action for resolution
• Demonstrated experience in the management with the performance of regular, ongoing scheduled work such as backups, system/operational reporting, system upgrade, monitoring and patches, to ensure the reliability and/or stability of systems

LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

• Leadership skills to provide overall team leadership, related advice and guidance and the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate human, financial and material resources.

INTERPERSONAL, CONSULTATION AND STRATEGIC ADVISORY SKILLS:

• Interpersonal, consultation, and strategic advisory skills to provide strategic advice and guidance, persuade stakeholders to adopt a course of action, and make recommendations to project stakeholders and team members
• Consultation and mediation skills to build consensus, resolve differences and conflicts
• Negotiation skills to draft service agreements and resolve resourcing issues

RISK ASSESSMENT, ISSUES MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of risk assessment and issues management skills to lead risk assessment/management for projects and to provide direction and advice to project teams.
• Experience in end to end change management process and use of change management tool (eSMT).

TECHNOLOGY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated experience in information management technologies, approaches and implementation methods
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, trends and developments

ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Oral communication skills to determine business/client requirements; to make presentations and to conduct briefings.
• Written communication strategies to manage the development of and edit project planning documents, reports, briefing notes, business cases and other documents.

FINANCIAL AND CONTROLLERSHIP MANAGEMENT:

• Ability to develop project budgets of large magnitude based on multiple funding channels and cross-ministry dependencies.
• Ability to monitor and track deliverables against budget.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the procurement process and acquisition of required material resources for projects.
