Do you have strong research and analytical skills to provide advice and support to health service providers regarding financial and statistical data submission methodologies, tools, strategies and policies? Then consider this exciting opportunity with the Special Projects Branch.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- analyse health service providers' financial and statistical data submission processes and provide recommendations and support in accordance with the identified business solution
- advise health service providers on data submission/reporting processes
- plan and support data/system change projects and requests
- review operations reports, lead the development of gap analysis and acceptance scenarios, and ensure the completion of the acceptance cycle with business users
- manage the development of the business operations and context in environment process flows and procedures
How do I qualify?
Technical Expertise
- you have knowledge of and experience with systems and databases used for financial information management and reporting
- you are proficient with software applications (e.g. statistical spreadsheets, word processing and graphics) to conduct analysis and prepare reports, briefing materials and presentations
- you have knowledge of strategic directions and priorities for hospitals, mental health, long-term care, acute and community health care delivery systems
- you can interpret and apply related legislation and standards (e.g. Ontario Health Care Reporting Standards)
- you have an understanding of health care financial processes, operations, issues, standards, accountability frameworks and decision-making structures
Analytical and Research Skills
- you have knowledge of data analysis models and techniques, data interpretation, evaluation and reporting
- you have strong analytical skills to identify, research and assess data to support the resolution of policy development, accountability and funding issues
- you can apply technical solutions to address business objectives in the integration and management of data
- you can identify, manage, monitor and track systems changes and their impacts across reporting business sectors, weighing associated risks
Relationship Management, Presentation and Consultation Skills
- you have strong relationship management, presentation and consultation skills to establish and foster cross-sector relationships with a range of stakeholders and clients
- you can prepare and edit materials such as discussion papers, briefing materials, presentations and correspondence
Planning, Organizational and Coordinating Skills
- you have excellent planning, organizational and coordinating skills to respond to inquiries/requests, and to deal with conflicting work demands and changes to deadlines
- you can provide leadership, expertise and guidance to section staff, project teams and work groups by assigning and reviewing work and establishing priorities
- you can monitor quality and timeliness of deliverables, assist with learning and development plans, and support the execution of operational plans
