Do you have a keen interest in establishing collegial working relationships with stakeholders, and leading the successful collection and maintenance of statistical and financial data for the health care sector? Then consider these exciting opportunities with the Special Projects Branch.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

- provide advice and consultation to business sector leaders to identify and implement statistical and financial data collection and reporting requirements and ensure the success of submission processes
- provide support to health service providers to ensure compliance with applicable financial standards (e.g. Ontario Health Reporting Standards (OHRS))
- provide subject matter expertise in the management and communication of health service providers' statistical and financial data
- lead the development and implementation of changes to data collection and reporting requirements
- coordinate the support for complex database systems

How do I qualify?

Technical Expertise

- you have senior-level experience working with financial and information management systems to lead and oversee system changes and the creation of processes to collect data for reporting purposes
- you are proficient with software applications, including statistical spreadsheets, word processing and graphics to conduct analysis and prepare reports, briefing materials and presentations
- you have knowledge of strategic directions and priorities for hospitals, mental health, long-term care, acute and community health care delivery systems
- you can interpret and apply related legislation
- you have knowledge of financial processes and reporting standards related to the health care sector (e.g. OHRS)
- you have knowledge of health care statistical and financial operations, issues, directions, hospital performance agreements, accountability frameworks and decision-making structures

Research, Analytical and Decision-Making Skills

- you have knowledge of data analysis models and techniques, data interpretation, evaluation and reporting to perform quality checks of clinical, financial and statistical data to validate health data submissions
- you demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex data and make recommendations to support policy development and accountability

Relationship Management, Communication and Consultation Skills

- you have excellent relationship management, communication and consultation skills to provide advice, establish cross-sector relationships, and work collegially with senior level decision-makers, stakeholders, clients and other contacts
- you have strong presentation, facilitation, persuasion, training and education skills
- you have conflict resolution skills to resolve issues and negotiate with sector business leads on data submission/reporting requirements
- you can prepare complex written materials, reports, plans and correspondence

Project Management and Planning Skills

- you have demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques to lead, plan, prioritize and manage analytical and reporting projects
- you have strong organizational skills to manage conflicting deadlines and respond to competing requests
- you can provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of programs and policies
