Please Note: This position will be located at either 222 Jarvis. St in Toronto or 33 King St. in Oshawa

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Assist in the design, development & implementation of Cognitive Computing & Cloud hosted solutions.
• Assist in researching, analyzing and testing of innovative technologies with a specific focus on Cognitive and Cloud hosted solutions.
• Provide subject matter expertise on application & technology design and applying information technologies for innovative business solutions.
• Provide operational administration, support & monitoring for implemented applications and technology solutions.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills - Design and Implementation:

• You have extensive knowledge and experience creating application & technology architecture design and system specification documents.
• You have experience in database design, data structures and data modelling.
• You have experience designing and developing data warehouses, data marts, data lakes and business intelligence based solutions.
• You have knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation activities.

Technical Knowledge and Skills – Application & Technology:

• You have knowledge of information technologies such as servers, storage, networks, operating systems, database technologies, security technologies (e.g. authentication), development tools and programming languages.
• You have knowledge and experience implementing business intelligence, advanced/predictive analytics, big data, machine learning and cognitive computing technologies and solutions.
• You have experience with ETL tools, SQL and No SQL database technologies.
• You have knowledge and experience implementing cloud hosted solutions utilizing infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), software as a service (SaaS) and hybrid cloud deployment models.
• You have experience supporting & monitoring the health, performance and status of Windows and Linux environments.
• You have experience with programming languages such as Python, R, Java or .NET.

Project Management Knowledge and Skills:

• You have knowledge of project management, including scopes, costs, schedules, quality, resources, stakeholder management, communications, risks, procurement and project integration.
• You have the ability to assist project managers to maintain project plans, work progress, track issues, and report project status.
• You have proficiency with using project management information systems, such as the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, shared folders, and collaboration tools.

Research and Analytical Skills:

• You can gather and document technical requirements and analytical results in the form of narratives and models.
• You can research and recommend innovative, machine learning, cognitive computing & cloud hosting best practices, policies and strategies.
• You can make recommendations, and provide advice on general and specific application and technology issues.

Computer Skills:

• You have proficiency with using various office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio to develop project documents and presentations.
• You have experience using Business Intelligence Tools such as Cognos, Hyperion etc. and Advanced Analytic tools such as SPSS, SAS etc.
• You have experience using Software Development tools
• You have experience using ETL and Data Integration tools
• You have experience using Cognitive Computing tools such as IBM Watson, Microsoft Cognitive Services etc.

Communication Skills:

• You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• You are effective in making presentations.
• You have the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
