The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario Provincial Police and the Bureau Commander of Communications and Technology Services seeks a qualified person to provide highly specialized technical expertise, group leadership and guidance to the specified unit team members and administrative management support to the supervisor in a large, technically complex and specialized IT environment.

Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.
Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
Ability to achieve Ministry technical accreditation standards
Ability to work on a regularly scheduled on-call basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of IT architecture concepts, systems design, development, integration & implementation; current working knowledge of Internet, Intranet, e-commerce, e-business and other emerging and converging technologies to handle complex technological problems.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure and services within industry recognized best practices and ITIL principles to provide guidance and leadership to section staff. Knowledge of all related standards and policies pertaining to the acquisition and use of information technologies.
Knowledge of proposal development, RFP and tendering process, contract administration to coordinate contractual agreements with vendors, suppliers, and clients. Job requires knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques to develop and implement project plans, budgets and human resources.
Understanding database concepts and software (e.g. MS SQL)
Knowledge of current and emerging Microsoft Operating Systems for servers and desktops; Microsoft Office products and all related applications. Virtual Private Network hardware and software, firewalls, Public Key Infrastructure applications; network communication protocols, network architecture and topology, database and specialized test and monitoring software.
Expertise knowledge of SharePoint enterprise farm architecture, infrastructure and operations.
Ability to install, maintain, manage and report on the SharePoint farm web, application, and index, query and database servers in accordance with industry best practices. Setup, configuration and maintenance of SharePoint infrastructure and services.
Knowledge of SharePoint development, testing and deployment methodologies (SDLC); general web-based and asp.net architecture and development; SharePoint information architecture concepts and implementation best practices; SharePoint features sets and workloads; SharePoint records management features; SharePoint governance planning, issues and implementation strategies; SharePoint specific development tools and paradigms.
