The Ministry of Education, Financial Analysis and Accountability Branch seeks a highly motivated bilingual individual to provide financial and administrative services. About the job

In this role you will:

• provide administrative and financial services to support the processing of legislative grants to school boards
• calculate school board grant bases, prepare transfer payments, reconcile financial reports, maintain funding documentation, process payments and monitor budgets
• coordinate administrative projects and respond to requests from school boards and central agencies
• compose/translate a variety of French/English correspondence
• update branch website

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirement:

• Proficiency in English as well as superior level of oral and written French

Financial administration skills:

• You have experience in accounting and with budgeting principles and practices.
• You have knowledge of financial statements and budget related terminology.

Computer and communication skills:

• You have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries and produce reports, letters and presentations.
• You have knowledge of office technology (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• You have knowledge of website applications and technology (e.g. HTML, Dreamweaver).
• You have knowledge of financial system applications including application interface for payment processing (e.g. IFIS, EFIS).

Other essential skills:

• You have the ability to interpret and apply legislation (e.g Education Act), policies and regulations.
• You have analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues, monitor and analyze budgets and process grant transactions.
• You have organizational and multi-tasking skills to coordinate branch projects and provide a range of financial and administrative services.
• You have knowledge of administrative policies and practices as well as procurement, payroll and accounts payable.
