Bring your project management knowledge and skills to the Treasury Board Secretariat, Central Agencies I&IT Cluster. We are currently looking for a motivated professional to join our team, and provide expertise, leadership, support, guidance and advice to Project Management professionals in the design, delivery and implementation of complex I&IT projects and/or specific components of large scale complex projects.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Provide expertise and leadership in the development and management of methodologies for various types of I&IT projects.
• Oversee the provision of timely, clear, and relevant project reporting to senior management.
• Undertake comprehensive project management needs assessments.
• Provide advice on key aspects of project management such as financial management, resource management, issue/risk management, change management and communication management.
• Provide advice, guidance and support to project practitioners on project management process and the use of an Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management Tool such as Planview.

How do I qualify?

PROJECT MANAGEMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• You have knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, techniques and tools to provide expertise and leadership in project delivery.
• You have experience in managing various types of I&IT projects, such as systems/application development and infrastructure deployment, to be able to understand and respond to the needs of Project Managers.
• You have experience in key aspects of project management such as financial management, resource management, issue/risk management, change management and communication management concepts.
• You have working knowledge of the use of an Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management tool such as Planview to manage projects, non-project work and the analysis and development of project and resource portfolio reports.

OTHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• You have knowledge of and experience with project, program & portfolio management tools (e.g. Planview).
• You have proficiency with computer software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

COMMUNICATION, CONSULTATION AND NEGOTIATION SKILLS:

• You can provide expertise, guidance, advice, support and leadership on project/program management.
• You have the ability to translate complex projects issues into plain language.
• You can establish effective working relationships, make persuasive presentations, and represent the organization to external and internal stakeholder groups.
• You have customer service, consultative, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• You can manage service agreements with vendors and clients.

ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS:

• You can synthesize and analyze large amounts of information in order to carry out complex analyses and projections to support project needs, changes, issues and risks.
• You can evaluate and define project management requirements, identify options, make recommendations, coordinate and implement processes for diverse projects.
• You can develop project performance management processes including project performance metrics, quality assurance, and client satisfaction.

LEADERSHIP AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:

• You have leadership experience to mentor and develop others, and lead and contribute to project teams.
• You can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with minimal manager supervision.
• You have effective time management skills, to manage multiple projects/tasks, and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
