What can I expect to do in this role?

The I&IT Infrastructure & Application Support Office is seeking a Software Developer to develop, extend, enhance, and maintain dynamic interactive multi-tiered applications (Oracle Cloud Technologies such as HCM, Taleo, etc) in support of the corporation's business activities

How do I qualify?

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma in Computer Science, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
• Minimum 6 years related work experience with a solid background in analysis, design and development of web-based corporate systems. Must have an excellent knowledge of the principles, practices, and standards of the Systems Development Life Cycle
• Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing, extending, and supporting web-based n-tier enterprise applications
• Solid experience with industry standard database technologies (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, ODBC), including building packages, stored procedures, triggers, and cursors
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, middleware, and other technologies for building and maintaining multi-tiered enterprise business solutions
• Knowledge of industry standard reporting and business intelligence tools
• Developed customizations using application programming interfaces (APIs), including exposure to extract, transfer, load (ETL) data Integration process
• Experienced with applying fixes, patches, and upgrades from the product vendor

Key Responsibilities

• Applies standard Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process to develop software applications and solutions in response to business requirements
• Develops system design documents for use in coding and testing business applications and solutions
• Develops test plans and data, and performs testing to verify that the programs function correctly and ensure that modifications have not caused errors in other parts of the program and interfacing programs and systems
• Designs, develops, and implements integrated web applications using industry standards (i.e. Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture)
• Prepares technical documentation for all development items; supports analysis, development and testing for enterprise solutions
• Develops maintenance enhancements, in response to changing business requirements, for enterprise solutions, to ensure their continuing value to business users
• Provides troubleshooting and technical support business solutions and applications that raise vendor support tickets
• Applies effective quality control and security measures to all applications modules; prepares proper documentation to facilitate support of custom oracle objects (reports, forms, interfaces)
