About the job
You will join our cross-cluster initiative to develop and implement the ministry's overarching technology strategy for all things related to information management. You will work alongside a wide variety of technical and business resources from our enterprise architecture team, cluster partners and the information management division.
As our Enterprise Business Intelligence Architecture expert, you will demonstrate
• Expertise and leadership in the business intelligence architecture domain for developing BI/MDM/Big Data and data warehousing strategies, blueprints and roadmaps
• Knowledge in one or more additional architecture domains such as data, integration and technology
• Expertise in developing and documenting best practices, defining business intelligence and big data architecture standards and ensuring adherence to them
• Proficiency in vendor and tool selection, design, and implementation of our new enterprise-wide data and BI platforms and suite of analytical tools
• Expertise in providing guidance to project teams in the consistent reuse of existing BI investments and foundational architectures, and for support of large scale migrations
• Expertise in providing highly specialized BI technical and consulting expertise in the BI/data warehousing/big data realms to senior management, internal users and external stakeholders
• Experience in visualizing and presenting forward thinking BI architecture/ETL solutions
What you bring to the team
Knowledge
• You have expertise in enterprise BI and Big Data strategies, I&IT strategy and roadmap development, in any or all three of BI, Big data, MDM.
• You have hands on expertise in enterprise BI solution architecture, principles/methodologies and mechanisms/techniques.
• You have knowledge of the principles/techniques of large-scale business intelligence, data warehouse, database design and information management concepts of BI solutions including data visualization and predictive analysis tools.
• You have extensive experience with BI (ODS, EDW, big data), MDM solutions (from business case development through vendor selection, design, development and roll-out).
• You have experience assessing, developing, sizing and evaluating enterprise BI reporting and analytics technical architectures and end to end BI solution optimization.
• You have knowledge of data modelling, mining, mapping, data analysis, migration, and ETL.
• You have experience in distributed application design/development and business intelligence and MDM tools.
• You have experience with Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and vendor selection.
• You have general knowledge of Service-oriented Architecture, Enterprise Service Bus/Message Broker or similar, Cloud Computing Technology (Iaas, PaaS, Saas), Portals and Mobile services.
• You have knowledge of Business Analytics/Intelligence, Managed File Transfer, Common Data Services/ETL, Virtualization, Informatica, Microsoft BI products, SAS, Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), Cognos and Cognos Framework Manager, Oracle Exadata, Java, Kafka, Cassandra, Confluent, Scala, Spark, Python, Zookeeper, Hadoop.
• You have the ability to acquire knowledge of and apply Cluster and Corporate IT architectural review processes and standards.

• You can research and recommend innovative, enterprise-wide business intelligence architecture solutions and provide recommendations on data migration strategies.
•You are able to identify opportunities to leverage and introduce new and emerging technologies.
• You are able to analyse and evaluate vendor solution options, estimate costs, develop business cases.
• In conjunction with other architecture experts from our cluster solution partners, you are able to collectively develop ministry and cluster level data, MDM, BI and data warehousing architectural solutions, models, views and strategies to meet complex, multi-year plans, spanning multiple internal/external stakeholders and broadly defined business objectives.

• You can provide guidance to our solution partners' project architects and consultants retained for design, architecture and project implementation activities in the realm of business intelligence architecture and ETL.
