Working as a director in the French-Language Teaching, Learning and Achievement Division, we are seeking two executives to lead teams of professionals to develop policies and programs to support a quality French-language and culture education agenda for students in elementary and secondary education, and contribute to a quality education system in Ontario.

DIRECTOR, FRENCH-LANGUAGE POLICY AND PROGRAMS
In this key executive position you will:
• Direct the planning, development and implementation of strategic frameworks and educational programs related to French-language education through effective strategic planning, analysis and consultation with key stakeholders
• Lead the delivery of the ministry's commitment to French-language education through the implementation of the Aménagement Linguistique Policy in French-language schools
• Build and promote effective relationships with French-language education stakeholders to develop and promote cooperative approaches and partnerships that reflect francophone culture and educational needs
• Strategically promote the goals of the French-Language Policy & Programs as well as the French-Language Teaching and Learning branches as an effective change agent including building critical professional partnerships between the ministry and senior school board officials; identify and resolve a range of complex, high profile and emergent literacy and numeracy policy issues for educators in a changing environment
• As a member of the Divisional Senior Management Team, provide input into strategic planning, evaluation, problem solving and decision making activities for the Division and solicit senior level cooperation and commitment to enhance Ontario's education system and further French-language education mandate
DIRECTOR, FRENCH-LANGUAGE TEACHING AND LEARNING
What can I expect in this role?
In this key executive position you will:
• Apply your knowledge of pedagogical theory, classroom experience, and curriculum development practices (acquired through an Ontario Teaching Certificate and/or experience teaching in a classroom setting), direct the planning, development and implementation of strategic frameworks and programs related to French-language education through effective strategic planning, analysis and consultation with key stakeholders
• Coordinate the development, updates and implementation of elementary and secondary pedagogical programming (e.g., specialized literacy and numeracy education programs, Dual Credit, High Skills Majors, experiential learning), curriculum and performance standards for French-language education
• Coordinate the development of resources for students and teachers and provide professional development opportunities for French-language teachers
• Build and promote effective relationships with French-language education stakeholders to develop and promote cooperative approaches and partnerships that reflect francophone culture and educational needs
• Strategically promote the goals of the French-Language Teaching and Learning as well as French-Language Policy & Programs branches as an effective change agent including building critical professional partnerships between the ministry and senior school board officials; identify and resolve a range of complex, high profile and emergent literacy and numeracy policy issues for educators in a changing environment

What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Oral and written proficiency in English and in French at the superior level
Executive Leadership and Management
• You are a seasoned executive with superior management and strategic leadership abilities to lead and influence people
• You have demonstrated financial management and human resources experience to manage the daily operations of the branch
• You have proven expertise in policy and program analysis, implementation, and evaluation
• You have demonstrated experience in building organizational capacity and promoting continuous improvement in a changing environment
• You are strategic in your planning and can develop long-term strategies to promote French-language and culture education
Knowledge
• You have knowledge of Ontario's education system and structure to manage the planning and delivery of a range of specialized literacy and numeracy focused education programs and expert consultation services to Ontario's French-language school boards
• You have knowledge of economic, social, cultural, political, and educational issues facing the Francophone communities in Ontario to inform the development of programs, initiatives and resources
• You have knowledge of relevant provincial acts and regulations (Education Act and Regulations, Provincial School Negotiations Act, French Language Services Act, Child and Family Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code) to inform the development of French-language education policy, programs, and initiatives
Relationship Management
• You have a proven track record of fostering collaborative relationships to develop cooperative approaches (to facilitate the development of French-language education policy, programs, and resources)
• You can develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as other ministries (e.g., MAESD, OFA, MCYS), broader public sector (e.g., School Board Directors of Education), federations and unions (e.g., ETFO, CUPE), and external stakeholder organizations (e.g., CODELF, ACELF)
• You are skilled at providing advice and influencing senior executives

• You have a high degree of integrity and political acuity to manage issues within an organization with high public profile and scrutiny
• You are open to new ideas and are able to adapt to a changing environment
• You understand the opportunities and challenges in a minority language context
