About the job

In this role you will:
• lead the planning, development and maintenance of Business and Information architectures, and participate in the development and maintenance of Application and Technology architectures
• conduct architecture governance for the Business and Information domains, and participate in architecture governance for the Application and Technology domains
• develop methodologies for the development and maintenance of Business, Information, Application and Technology architectures
• participate in the development and maintenance of architecture governance processes and procedures
• lead and participate in the development of technology roadmaps
• provide subject matter expertise advice and training to projects on the development and governance of I&IT architectures
• provide innovative ideas and solutions using persuasion skills to win support for your ideas while promoting the value of I&IT architectures
• develop and maintain networks with internal and external stakeholders

What you bring to the team


Knowledge:

• you have expertise in I&IT enterprise architecture (Business, Information, Application, Technical and Security), IT strategies, enterprise architecture principles/methodologies/ Frameworks (Zachman/TOGAF) and guidelines for architecture artefacts and processes
• you have knowledge of operating systems (Windows, AIX, iOS, Android); database technologies (Oracle, DB2, Microsoft); CRM and Social service program delivery (Curam, Siebel, MS-Dynamics); ETL- Datawarehouse and BI (Infomatica, DataStage, SAP, Cognos, Data Integrator, Oracle BI, Hyperion, Microsoft BI); HCM(PeopleSoft, SAP); Web(SharePoint/NET); Application Servers(WebSphere/Weblogic), Cloud technologies (Azure, Bluemix, Amazon)
• you have knowledge of business process & data modelling, analysis, re-engineering
• you have experience in distributed application design and development

Research and Analytical Skills:

• you can develop architectural solutions to meet stakeholders and broadly defined business objectives
• you can resolve integration and technical issues to address multiple systems/applications linkages, interdependencies and impacts where requirements are not initially clear
• you can research and recommend innovative architecture alternatives with integration strategies
• you can plan and coordinate all phases of architecture, design and implementation for systems
• you can develop appropriate performance measures that are adaptive and responsive to address the continuous introduction of new and emerging technologies, use of unfamiliar or unproven technology, broadly defined or undefined business and systems requirements

Leadership Skills:

• you can provide guidance and training to project teams and consultants retained for design, architecture and project implementation activities
• you can provide technical guidance to unit systems staff; schedule activities, explain procedures, develop learning plans and monitor work progress
• you can establish effective working relationships, obtain buy-in for systems design and development, promote design and architecture options of systems to senior management and stakeholders, to obtain decision making
• you can lead project status meetings and other cluster/corporate committees to discuss/determine strategy for architecture priorities and change management directions

Consultation, Collaboration and Facilitation Skills:

• you can consult with stakeholders and clients to advise on technical issues
• you can facilitate discussions among stakeholders with different interests
• you can encourage participation in the systems design and implementation process
• you can negotiate customer service agreements and resource requirements with client senior management and other IT groups to minimize service delivery issues
• you can provide advice and recommendations to stakeholders, management, and staff regarding most effective design, architecture and system implementation strategies

Communication Skills

• you can present IT strategies and solutions to senior management and stakeholders
• you can provide advice regarding approaches to contentious design architecture and implementation issues
• you can deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders and interview highly skilled IT professionals
• you can lead planning sessions with corporate IT groups and stakeholders
