About the job

The Risk & Insurance unit is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support the strategic direction of the risk, claims and insurance teams to ensure appropriate efficient and effective timely resolution of claims, appropriate risk acceptance and transfer, and the ERM policy and framework for risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews updates to workflow documents, procedures, and policies to support process changes.
• Tracks and monitors changes throughout the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
• Conducts and validates integration and user acceptance testing for system changes being put into production.
• Reviews and coordinates required changes to workflows and procedures.
• Coordinates and facilitates resolution of risk (ARM) and claims (CRM) system production issues; categorizes and identifies issues, designs amendments, and incidents or investigation; investigates issues to identify root causes; defines the scope and impacts of root causes.
• Works closely with all stakeholders (e.g. cross functional teams, external partners, and vendors) to establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with external vendors and clients, build cross-functional relationships and liaise with internal departments regarding operational issues or improvements.
• Reviews operational updates from external partners to determine impact to current business and support the implementation of the change.
• Transitions requirements to developers to facilitate a clear and complete understanding of the requirements.
• Acts as a technical and system subject matter expert to risk and insurance and assists with the development of new and modified processes, reports and requirements.
• Initiates business recommendations to drive business process improvements and operational efficiencies; conducts impact assessments and reviews processes after implementation of system changes.
• Identifies opportunities for system changes to improve operational accuracy and efficiency; develops business cases, recommendations, and change notices.
• Prepares training plans and related materials, and coordinates training of stakeholders using the applications and/or affected by the introduction of services and applications.
• Designs, develops and implements reports based on business needs.
• Exports, summarizes, manipulates, and analyzes data in Excel to generate insights, develops presentations to share results.
• Manages access rights and license allocation.
• Maintains the design integrity and validity of the systems, including the metadata, dimensions, business rules provided to support Senior Management decision making including but not limited to reporting of risk and claims.

Qualifications

• Completion of a degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
• Minimum six (6) years of experience as a financial systems business analyst
• Knowledge of computerized financial systems and related development processes to provides technical expertise to implement financial systems solutions and streamline operations
• Analytical and problem solving skills to define finance system impacts resulting from new or modified
• Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills to facilitate meetings, review updates to workflow documents, procedures, and policies, and establish cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
