About the job

The Procurement – Operations Office requires (2) two Junior Buyers to procure low dollar value goods and services in an effective and efficient manner, prepare contract amendments, facilitate 2nd stage procurement processes, function as a Card Coordinator for the Corporate Purchasing Card Program and to coordinate and execute the Asset Disposal program.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out purchasing activities for low dollar value goods and services
• Preparation of contract amendments
• Coordinating formal procurement process.
• Determining source of supply, method of purchase, and conducting procurements
• Liaising between client group and bidders.
• Preparing and issuing accurate procurement information reports.
• Disposing of surplus materials.
• Coordinating the Corporate Purchasing Card Program

Qualifications

• Completion of University, knowledge of purchasing principles and practices normally attained through the completion of the professional development program with courses leading to a PMAC or OPBA certification, or any combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years' experience, providing:
o Solid background in coordinating the procurement process for a wide range of goods and services, including preparation of Scopes of Work, client/bidder liaison, analysis of quotations and purchase order preparation.
o Good oral and written communications skills.
o Ability to establish effective relationships with client groups, suppliers, and service providers.
o Good organizational skills
