About the job
As a Pharmacist, you will:
• Assess requests for coverage of drug products that are not listed on the formulary of the Ontario Drug Benefit Program.
• Review requests against approved clinical criteria, and prepare decision responses to physicians.
• Collaborate with external expert reviewers on criteria and funding recommendations through the Committee to Evaluate Drug (CED) Consultant review process.
• Develop, recommend and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
• Provide clinical and policy advice to physicians, pharmacists, consumers and other stakeholders.
• Facilitate the development, maintenance and extraction of information from the ministry's computer database.
What you bring to the team
MANDATORY:
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (B.Sc Pharm., BSP or equivalent) and Part A licensure from the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
• You have knowledge of pharmacology and clinical therapeutics to provide sound clinical advice and expertise.
ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:
• You can identify and resolve potential problems, and provide recommendations.
• You can participate in the development and implementation of operational policies.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
• You can provide consultation to clients or stakeholders to identify and resolve potential conflicts or contentious issues.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• You can retrieve and assess information from pharmaceutical databases.
