About the job

You will provide support to the NOHFC Program Unit team in policy development, program review, planning and delivery activities; in supporting process evaluation and reengineering; and in carrying-out projects by:

• assisting in research projects to determine and provide advice on improving NOHFC program delivery and services, including data integrity, quality control, and optimized business process mapping
• reviewing economic/statistical data, literature reviews, client surveys and analyzing data to identify and recommend policy and program enhancements
• providing project planning and implementation to support northern economic prosperity
• participating on project and/or work teams in the planning, coordination and development of detailed information management strategies
• assisting in the research and development of programs and policies and participating in the development of standards, processes and performance measures
• participating in various committees and working groups

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• You must have graduated from a college or university, with a degree, diploma or post-graduate certificate, within the past 5 years.
• You must be an Indigenous person (i.e. First Nations, Métis, Inuit).

Project management skills:

• You have knowledge of project management theories and methodologies, to assist in the planning and implementation of project activities relating to NOHFC programs and policies.
• You can plan, coordinate and manage project deliverables.

Communication and interpersonal skills:

• You can assist with the development of surveys, articulate research findings and prepare presentations.
• You can participate and contribute to committees and projects.

Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills:

• You can assist in conducting research, information collection, and analyze and compile information/data.
• You can evaluate survey results and business processes and identify process or service delivery problems.
• You have knowledge of performance measurement methodologies and evaluation techniques.

Computer skills:

• You are proficient in common software applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel to prepare written reports, spreadsheets, presentation packages and correspondence.
