About the job
Utilizing your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, you will:
• provide technical expertise and coordination in the delivery of the ministry's meat inspection program for a designated area of the province
• support the Area Manager in planning, reporting and organizing the area offices and operations

Verner:
This 1000 resident community is the center of a rich farming district, located on the Veuve River at the western junction of highways 17 and 64. Mandatory requirement:
• You are able to travel extensively to areas not accessible by public transit.
Skills:
• You have planning, coordination and scheduling skills to coordinate daily inspection requirements and assist with program design and delivery plans by utilizing performance measurement, compliance practices, plant visits, audit corrective action plans and tracking.
• You have oral and written communication skills.
• You have reasoning and problem solving skills.
• You have negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• You can work independently, take initiative and meet outcomes/objectives with minimal supervision.
Knowledge:
• You have working knowledge of food safety legislation and related acts.
• You have working knowledge of the principles, theories and practices related to international food safety and quality standards and systems (e.g. Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
• You have thorough knowledge of meat inspection, humane animal handling practices and organoleptic inspection procedures.
• You have working knowledge of inspection/audit techniques.
• You have knowledge of further processing of meat products.
• You have knowledge of computers and software to locate, adapt, manipulate and store data/information to be used for review, evaluation, and reporting.
