About the job

As the Senior Web and Digital Advisor, you will provide advice and leadership to senior management and program areas in the effective design, integration and implementation of web and digital strategies and technologies that translate business goals into highly impactful and engaging digital experiences for our visitors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the strategy and execution of our digital brand and marketing efforts, including a full website redesign and a variety of digital experiences that drive increased engagement, usability and conversions.
  • Working cross-functionally and collaboratively with business partners, stakeholders and internal teams to help turn business requirements, user needs and creative strategy into engaging online experiences.
  • Working collaboratively with a variety of teams (research, content, digital marketing, business owners, product owners, project managers) to provide and improve on the user experience of the product.
  • Acting as an internal resource for user-centred digital strategy and design.
  • Leading research activities like usability evaluations, user interviews, SEO keyword research, and digital analytics. Ensuring research, data and insights to inform and evaluate digital, marketing and communications strategy and tactics
  • Contributing to usability testing, card sorting, task and experience mapping. Creating and effectively presenting user flows, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, etc. to stakeholders and teams.
  • Overseeing the development of a digital style guide and ensuring digital design and content standards are adhered to.
  • Overseeing content strategy and governance, outlining how content will be managed, maintained, and measured. Evaluating the usability of new and existing content, and making constructive suggestions for change.
  • Ensuring quality assurance processes in web publishing operations; managing reviews and approvals; ensuring web content is optimized for search engine visibility.
  • Developing project management tools, priorities, timelines and budgets and assigning responsibilities to team members.
  • Analyzing and evaluating performance metrics and providing weekly updates on progress, action items, metrics and milestones.
  • Managing relationships with vendors and agencies, including procurement, managing contracts and budgets, defining project scope, goals and deliverables, and ensuring compliance with Advertising Review Board regulations and reporting.

What you bring to the team


Web Expertise

You are:
• A digital strategist with experience managing and implementing large, enterprise-wide website re-design projects.
• Passionate about user-centred design and employ all tools available to create superior digital experiences.
• Current on emerging trends in user-centered methodologies and accessibility, usability principles and web technologies.
• Experienced with web content management tools (e.g., Sharepoint (intranet), Umbraco or similar, statistical software and tools such as Google Analytics, and are skilled in HTML & CSS.

Digital Marketing and Communications Expertise

You have:
• Extensive background in digital marketing and knowledge of strategic marketing planning methods, techniques and best practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of branding and design principles and practices and how they relate to the customer experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all digital marketing and communications platforms and how to create integrated digital campaigns, programs and initiatives that yield high ROI.
• Experience in developing content strategy and managing digital marketing content, including the coordination of content produced by web editors.
• Superior writing and editing skills and demonstrated experience in writing for SEO.

Project Management Leadership Skills

You have:
• Strong project management and organizational skills to lead and coordinate all phases of web communications/development projects within established deadlines while adapting to changing priorities and issues as they arise.
• Experience leading or conducting mid- to large-scale projects and initiatives focused on web and digital media products including oversight of project objectives, plans, priorities, timelines and budgets.
• Demonstrated skills in leading and facilitating timely technical development, implementation and evaluation of web and digital communications products, services and channels

Strategic Thinking and Analytical Skills

You have:
• Experience in conducting research, analysis and assessment of industry developments in digital media technology and potential services and products that may facilitate marketing activities and can make recommendations for new strategies
• Analytical skills to conduct needs assessments and user research activities to inform user-centred website design and to leverage qualitative and quantitative data and insights to drive digital strategy.
• Strategic thinking skills to determine effective communication strategies for website content with a consistent and integrated cross-channel approach
• Analytical skills to analyse and interpret data and analytics to gather consumer insights that improve user experience and ROI.

Communication and Advisory Skills

You can:
• Accurately assess client/stakeholders' needs, provide strategic and tactical advice and guidance in the development and implementation of web and digital media communications strategies
• Provide strong consultation services to senior and program management and to colleagues on web and digital media communication objectives, concepts, issues, products and services
• Build relationships with a variety of stakeholders to maintain and develop website and digital media content and work with various technology vendors and IT departments to maintain web applications and databases.
