Are you a dynamic education professional and leader who can inspire a team of creative science educators? Then consider joining the management team at the Ontario Science Centre (OSC).

We are seeking an experienced, visitor-focused, results-oriented leader to manage the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs for Canadian school groups which support attendance and revenue targets of the OSC.

About the job

You will:
• Lead the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to students and their teachers
• Provide educational leadership, establish and maintain partnerships with formal and informal education sectors
• Oversee the development and maintenance of administrative systems, processes and guidelines for the scheduling of educational programs and the assignment of educators
• Develop strategies to meet attendance and revenue targets in support of the organization's strategic, operational and financial goals.
• Contribute to the development of marketing and communications strategies to promote awareness of educational and learning program offerings
• Work in a dynamic team of education professionals and foster a values-based and inclusive team

What you bring to the team


Management & Leadership Skills

• You have demonstrated experience managing, motivating, inspiring, and evaluating staff and volunteers
• You have good judgment and organizational awareness in managing issues
• You are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and can promote collaboration in order to build a respectful work environment
• You have knowledge of human resources practices, policies, directives and collective agreements in relation to recruitment, training and development, and labour relations to support an inclusive and engaged team.

Knowledge/Technical Skills

• You have advanced knowledge and experience of education/learning methodology as well as current trends in formal and informal education
• You have advanced understanding of the Ontario Science, Technology and Math curricula, and 21st century learning skills
• You have well-developed skills to analyze the competitive landscape and develop programs and products to support that market
• You have demonstrated experience managing finances and setting and achieving budget targets for revenues and expenditures

Project Management Skills

• You can plan, organize and set work priorities and standards to manage multiple and concurrent requests within a time-sensitive environment
• You have experience managing multiple projects with a proven track record of success
• You can demonstrate analytical and project management skills to create logistical plans for programs and services

Communication Skills

• You have highly effective oral and written communication skills to develop reports and presentations
• You have extensive experience with communication methods and practices in order to research options for public education and consultation initiatives
• You can demonstrate experience in building and maintaining relationships across an organization as well with external partners to consult effectively in formal and informal education sectors
