About the job
As a valued team member you will:
• Design and develop system interfaces for both acquired and developed application solutions
• Perform system integration from a technical perspective, including designing appropriate ETL solutions
• Provide technical expertise, develop and implement business intelligence solutions to support Police end users, project teams and peer technical staff
• Plan, validate, and document data conversion routines supplied by vendor, coordinating and performing conversion activities with each Police Service and operations
• Document, design and develop decision support reports based on data across Police applications
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Experience
You have:
• knowledge of information technology and information engineering principles, computer programming techniques, client/server application development technology
• knowledge of, and experience with XSLT, ETL, SQL, XML, .Net, HTML
• knowledge of current and the advances in software products
• experience in designing, implementing and supporting hardware/software infrastructures for both development and production environments, supporting multi-tiered applications in large distributed environments
Reasoning, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• you can assess and recommend architectural strategies of highly complex technical solutions
• you can assess technical design problems and develop computerized solutions to information problems in support of end users
• you can conduct cost benefit analyses in support of acquisition recommendations
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• you have excellent written and oral communication skills to discuss client requirements, prepare project reports and discuss acquisition recommendations with clients, technical staff and vendors
