The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Commander, Career Development Bureau is searching for skilled individuals to independently provide a full range of professional human resource management advisory/program services to a designated area of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), developing a strategic business partnership with client managers in support of proactively culturing and promoting the leading human resource management practices and fostering a respectful work environment free of discrimination and harassment.

Career Development Bureau is seeking to develop a pool of candidates to draw from either full time or on a temporary basis.

Under filling will also be considered as a developmental opportunity.

Mandatory requirements

Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Sound knowledge of and experience with Human Resource principles/practices/policies and related legislation, with emphasis on Human Rights Code, Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Prevention, Attendance and Disability Management, job classification, employee relations, staffing & workforce program development, Human Resource planning, and selection processes.

Strong client service/development, relationship building and impact and influence skills to develop and implement creative workable solutions and strategies in relation to job design, culture shifts, change/ transitional management, create partnerships, provide advice and coaching to promote leading human resource management practices.

Oral & written communication skills to advise, consult and guide clients, craft correspondence, develop and deliver information sessions, presentations and resource materials.

Demonstrates cooperation within and beyond own team; contributes to team effectiveness, supports team decisions; accepts personal accountability; shares responsibility for overall challenges and successes of the team.
