The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario Provincial Police, requires a conscientious individual to ensure the care, custody and control of offenders and provide a safe and secure transport of offenders between correctional institutions, police facilities and court locations.

skill and ability in checking one's own work for accuracy, following required internal control procedures and not only controlling own emotions, but also acting to defuse situations and calm others; skill and ability in communicating effectively, accepting personal accountability, working cooperatively and fully contributing in a team environment; operates consistently, trustworthy and with an awareness of how oneself and one's role are seen by others; skill in map reading and knowledge of local geography to plan and schedule the transportation of offenders; basic mathematical skills to complete required reports; knowledge of and skill in computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) to input/retrieve data and prepare reports. Knowledge of traffic laws of Ontario and standard transport vehicle safety checks (e.g. tires, lights and safety equipment); ability to obtain and maintain Special Constable status pursuant to the Police Services Act; must hold and maintain a valid Class G driver's licence, pass Driver Training Course and hold and maintain a safe driving record; must hold and maintain current Emergency First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Heartsaver Certificates; must successfully pass the OPP Fitness Testing; must successfully complete the Radio Operator's training; must successfully complete Use of Force training; must pass OPP background security investigation.

Language requirements and assessment:
