About the job
The roles:
The Chief Instructor- Basic Constable Training (BCT), will oversee practical and knowledge based training for the Basic Constable Training Program (BCT).
The Chief Instructor- Forensics and Traffic, will oversee practical and knowledge based training for forensic identification training, traffic reconstruction and speed training, for sworn and civilian members of police services.
In these positions, you will:
• work collaboratively with other Chief Instructors to manage the training and administration of the Basic Constable Training program or the Forensic, Specialized, and Traffic programs.
• manage and provide technical direction to instructors and support staff
• review and approve course materials, schedules and tests
• monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of courses
• lead change initiatives and new programing
• prepare detailed reports and responses to stakeholders
• engage staff and stakeholders to resolve complex issues
• represent the college on various committees.

• You have knowledge of existing, new and changing federal and provincial legislation, related case law decision and advancement in practices and technology affecting policing services.
Program Development and Design
• You have knowledge of program design, to oversee the development of programs in support of the training system.
• You have knowledge of performance measurement and evaluation methods to report on program effectiveness.
• You can evaluate courses, training policies and procedures to ensure that the organization is responsive to changing policing and legal issues.
• You have experience assessing trends and issues impacting training programs, strategies, standards, and delivery mechanisms.
Other essential skills
• You have advanced oral and written communication skills.

• You have financial skills to monitor and administer budgets, and procure goods and services.
