If so, consider this opportunity with the Ministry of Health, Claims Services Branch, where you will process third party and individual requests to disclose personal health information and respond to inquiries from the public, lawyers, internal and external stakeholders on legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures that are used to make decisions on disclosures.

About the job

In this role, you will, as part of a team:

• Receive, log and track requests for personal health information.
• Review source documents to determine the nature of the request, research records and accurately input information into data fields.
• Identify missing requirements and request additional information for decision making.
• Process search and retrieval requests using electronic recording and tracking systems.
• Prepare documents for disclosure and file completed documents.
• Provide high level of customer service through interactions with a variety of people.
• Make decisions and resolve issues by determining appropriate actions and following up on information.

What you bring to the team


MANDATORY:

• Proficiency in English as well as oral French language at the advanced level.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

•You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
•You have knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Personal Health Information Protection Act to process requests and prevent privacy breaches;
•You can understand legal terminology to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Analytical and Organizational Skills:

•You demonstrate analytical and research skills and attention to detail to update and retrieve statistical data, and identify and correct errors;
•You have proven organizational and time management skills to work under pressure and meet operational goals;
•You can determine priorities among conflicting demands, and process large volumes of data with a high accuracy level within deadlines.

Communication and Customer Service Skills:

•You have strong communication, interpersonal, customer service and conflict resolution skills to respond to inquiries and provide information to clients ensuring confidentiality;
•You have teamwork skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff, clients and stakeholders.

Computer Skills:

•You have excellent computer skills to maintain statistical data, perform tracking functions and generate reports;
•You have demonstrated keyboarding skills and knowledge of data entry procedures;
•You are proficient with word processing and database software.
