Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) provides trauma-informed and highly specialized services for children and youth of Ontario who experience complex and long-standing combinations of mental health difficulties and/or developmental challenges where these difficulties significantly impact functioning in multiple areas such as home, school and community and appropriate community interventions have not produced the desired response. CPRI provides services that are based on a partnership model with community service providers. Our services include Assessment, Consultation, Treatment, Research and Education in both outpatient and inpatient services.
CPRI is currently looking for an experienced social work professional who will provide clinical social work services and case management to the Homeshare Program, a highly complex program designed to provide long-term alternative family home placements for developmentally challenged children and adults experiencing multiple challenges.
About the job
You will:
• provide social work services focused on support, supervision and case management;
• consult and liaise with other disciplines, family and community partners as required, to establish appropriate programming and follow-up;
• monitor, advocate for and support placements on an ongoing basis, and;
• participate in professional and community education and research activities.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You have a Master's Degree in Social Work from a University of recognized standing or an acceptable equivalent (candidates who possess a Bachelor of Social Work Degree must have acceptable related social work experience)
• You are registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers OR you are eligible for registration
• You have a valid Ontario driver's license
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
• You have knowledge of and experience with a broad range of social work methods with a clinical focus
• You have knowledge of therapeutic and counseling techniques to provide clinical social work treatment programs to specialized children with multiple disabilities, their families and Homeshare parents
• You have knowledge of Child Welfare legislation and community resources
• You are knowledgeable in family dynamics, counseling and case management
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• You have exceptional counseling, communication and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, families, Homeshare parents, staff and community agencies
