The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, Deputy Minister's office, is seeking a Compliance Reviewer to analyse, interpret, review and locate enforcement records, and summarize enforcement and compliance findings for a very high volume of Ministry, OPS and private sector requestors, and the public. About the job
In this role you will:
• Analyse, interpret, review and locate enforcement records, and summarize enforcement and compliance findings for a very high volume of Ministry, OPS and private sector requestors, and the public.
• Provide authoritative reports on compliance with Employment Standards (ES) and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) legislation in support of program administration in the MOL and other ministries, and business decisions in the private sector.
• Identify specific issues management concerns or considerations related to the compliance review and alert senior management prior to releasing information.
What you bring to the team
Knowledge:
• You have the demonstrated ability to learn, interpret, and apply legislation (ie. Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Employment Protection of Foreign Nationals Act, Child Performers Act, Divisional), program policies, standards and procedures.
Organizational and Time Management Skills:
• You can manage your time and set priorities in a high-volume work environment.
• You have the ability to balance competing and shifting priorities for a workload with unpredictable demands and volumes.
Computer Skills:
• You are proficient in the use of databases and common office equipment.
• You can investigate, access, search, verify, cross-reference and assess large amounts of corporation business data and information.
• You can prepare request-specific compliance reports for internal and external users, as well as regular and ad hoc reports for Divisional/MOL management.
• You can prepare correspondence and make recommendations for database enhancements.
Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
• You have demonstrated investigative, research, analytical, interpretive, evaluative and problem-solving skills.
• You practice attention to detail.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
• You work well with all levels of branch management and staff.
• You can consult with stakeholders and negotiate timelines for response.
• You can to communicate tactfully using discretion, diplomacy and courtesy with public and private sector officials, and the general public.
