The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, seeks a qualified member to provide psychological services through the administration of psychometric assessments to screen all new uniform employees, to evaluate potential transfers of existing employees to specialized units and to assess some civilians for specific positions.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.
Valid Class G Driver's licence for the purpose of travelling to various locations to perform required testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of theories of human development and relevant psychological theories, methodologies and practices including the fundamental principles and theories related to the psychological testing principles to provide screening and interpretation services through the selection, administration and scoring of a range of psychological tests.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to produce reports and maintain and store accurate confidential records.
Knowledge of police culture with respect to psychological test administration and interpretation.
Job requires knowledge of the Canadian Code of Ethics for psychologists.
Interpersonal and oral communication skills to provide guidance to staff and applicants and to discuss complex issues or problems concerning assessments with a supervising psychologist and other stakeholders.
Written communication skills, including the use of specialized terminology to prepare assessment reports and specific research projects.
Problem solving and analytical skills to identify appropriate strategies and resources for assessing candidates, to analyze qualitative and quantitative statistical data and to interpret and validate results.
