This leadership role is seeking to create the next stage of digital information management in the Ontario government that will enable organizational business transformation and support the government's digital agenda.

In the process of delivering policies and programs, the Ontario government creates tens of millions of documents and records every year. Our team:The Enterprise Information Management unit provides modern information management services to enable Ontario government ministries and agencies make services easier for people and businesses to get the services they need digitally. This unit is a leading jurisdiction for the public sector and sets a forward-thinking digital information management platform to support more responsive and flexible public services for the people of Ontario.

About the job

• Provide strategic leadership, priority setting and direction for the conceptualization, development and implementation of strategies and initiatives to drive the priorities for the next stage of digital information management in the Ontario government.
• Ensure a focus on easier access to, and increased use of government information through highly scalable, innovative and resilient technology platforms to make public sector services and service delivery modern and customer focused.
• Implementation services which focus on digital enablement; the building of digital capacity for the modern environment; and the development and implementation of efficient, integrated, sustainable business and operating models.
• Build a collaborative and customer-centric culture.
• Provide leadership and promotion of a culture where coaching, mentoring, and commitment to continuous learning and dynamic leadership practices are valued and exercised.
• Work with partners across the Division, other ministries, and third parties to develop and drive focused quality, value-added and scalable digital and data-driven programs and services.
• Provide direction and leadership in the development, implementation and delivery of modern, sustainable digital services for the Ontario government to operate in a COVID and post-COVID world.
• Lead strategies, best practices and operational policies, standards, procedures and guidelines to build the foundation for the whole life of digital government records.
• As a member of the management team, participate in Divisional/Ministry strategic planning and decision-making activities to support OPS and ministry corporate priorities leading to the transformation, cultural change and direction for the Division.

Technical expertise:

• You have knowledge of business systems and infrastructure technologies in order to provide leadership in the identification and evaluation of information technology options for business areas, the development of new systems or systems modifications and the deployment or enhancements to infrastructure solutions.
• You have knowledge of theory and principles of systems design and development, and related methods, techniques, and practices, to provide leadership for the analysis and definition of business and information technology requirements, design, development, testing and implementation of systems solutions and, evaluation of hardware and software.
• You maintain current knowledge of trends and advances in information technology, especially as they relate to content services technologies and related systems and services.
• You have knowledge of and extensive experience in production support break/fix methodologies (regular and major incidents) and operational system processing, service activation, and sustainment practices and processes.
• You have knowledge of records and information management practices to provide innovative leadership to direct enterprise-wide digital solutions aimed at effectively collecting, preserving and promoting the records of the Government of Ontario.
• You have experience driving focused quality, value-added and scalable digital and data-driven business models, programs and services.
• You have experience in performance measurement development, monitoring and evaluation.
