About the job

You will:
• Provide marketing and media leadership and expertise, ensuring SLPC strategic messages and objectives are effectively communicated to targeted audiences.
• Ensure SLPC brand is integrated consistently throughout the product
• Coordinate, develop and implement comprehensive and strategic SLPC marketing and media plans that reach Provincial, Canadian and International markets

What you bring to the team


MANDATORY

• Valid Class G driver's license.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

You have proven knowledge of and demonstrated experience in:
• business development and marketing communication methods, brand positioning strategies, brand building, alignment and customer-centric strategy
• marketing and communication methods, techniques and best practices to implement marketing strategies
• current and leading marketing and media trends
• proactively overseeing the integration of strategic consumer marketing messages, including product priorities in the assigned market
• booking media platforms (including broadcast, print, outdoor, transit, digital and social media)
• working with advertising agencies, managing contracts and purchase requisitions
• travel trade market, domestically and internationally and building successful strategy and outreach
• selling in a one on one marketplace environment

COMMUNICATION, INTERPERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

You have:
• strong oral communication skills to provide clear advice and recommendations on media campaigns
• strong written and editorial skills to align content with SLPC's brands and marketing strategies
• strong presentation skills in both a small and large group setting
• a proven collaborative approach to liaise with business unit managers, municipalities, tourism partners, external vendors/advertising agencies on marketing strategies and campaigns
• demonstrated experience as a creative director along with ad copy skills and techniques
• organizational skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; planning, project management and coordination skills to manage concurrent projects, schedules and timelines
• problem–solving skills to resolve quality and delivery issues

ANALYTICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS

You have proven experience to:
• analyze and react to consumer behaviour, media trends and their relationships to the tourism industry
• utilize research techniques to target demographics and create media buying strategies
• identify sources of data, collect and compile information and assess/determine the most effective media content
• analyze performance metrics for media campaigns and benchmark to industry trends

TECHNICAL SKILLS

You have:
• demonstrated experience with Microsoft Suite programs in PC/Windows environment with an understanding of World Wide Web, including its capabilities, advances, opportunities
• demonstrated experience with a variety
