Join our team in this exciting role as a Team Lead, Accountability, where you will provide leadership for the strategic planning involving the analysis of programs and health system requirements in the Ontario Health Oversight Branch (OHOB).

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Provide strategic direction and planning framework for all projects undertaken by the unit involving the coordination, technical direction and expertise provided across the Ministry with respect to health system-wide development.
• Provide expertise and authoritative strategic advice to the senior management in decision-making including the overall system-wide strategic plan, approach and process design, prioritization guidelines and scenarios and options.
• Lead and coordinate research projects to obtain evidence in support of assessing requirements for the health care system including system-wide risks considerations.
• Facilitates productive cross-divisional and inter-ministry relationships ensuring projects' success through effective communication and consultation process.

How do I qualify?

Health Knowledge:

• You have knowledge of health system and programs/sectors funding and allocation strategies.
• You have knowledge of the Ministry /government directions/priorities for the health care system.

Business and Change Management Knowledge and Government Knowledge:

• You have expertise in business management theories and change management principles.
• You can design and implement strategies to effect cultural change and to lead the development of business processes and best practices.
• You have knowledge of the government's fiscal planning cycle and decision-making process and how it impacts on key priorities in the health system.

Analytical, Issues and Risk Management Skills:

• You can gather and analyze information to build evidence-based recommendations.
• You can assess and determine the outcome of research and analysis recommendations by staff.

Leadership and Project Management Skills:

• You can provide strategic planning and leadership of the Branch's multiple project initiatives, including projects that involve stakeholders from across the ministry.
• You can provide authoritative funding advice to Branch and Division senior executives.
• You can provide guidance and direction to a team of analysts.

Communication Skills:

• You can lead the development of briefings, presentations, proposals, and submissions for consideration by senior management and senior level committees.
• You can provide expert advisory services.
• You can facilitate productive consultations with internal stakeholders to ensure consideration for various perspectives in development of the health system strategic fiscal plan and investment recommendations.
• Oral communication to provide advice to senior management as well as to present and explain briefings regarding the status of OH's compliance with their accountability instruments.
• Written communication to develop formal responses to queries and concerns that have been addressed to the Minister (including House Notes) and to the Deputy Minister and ADM.

Computer Skills:

• You are able to operate office computers (hardware and software), in order to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database software to access data, prepare reports, spreadsheets, develop submissions, and to correspond in memos and e-mail with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
