Consider the opportunity to join the Northern regional management team, as an Area Manager for Probation and Parole in a designated locale.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills, ability to collaborate, coaching skills, an understanding of correctional services in relation to the delivery of community services and programs to adult offenders, in addition to exceptional interpersonal, administrative and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills are an asset.

About the job

Your role as an Area Manager will include:

• Support correctional services and the Region, working in a diverse environment, where you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and financial management of probation and parole services
• Directly supervise staff by providing technical guidance, support, coaching, mentoring and expertise
• Provide leadership in the implementation of policies, initiatives and operational plans for safe, secure, efficient and accountable delivery of programs and services
• Determine work priorities and approve and recommend training assignments
• Implement and oversee service delivery and the case management review processes and initiatives
• Monitor compliance with Ministry safety and security policies and standards
• Build and maintain relationships with community and justice sector partners
• Manage contentious issues and employee relations matters

• You have demonstrated knowledge of financial planning and management to plan, develop, administer and monitor operating budgets and financial resources
• You are proficient with computers and technology, including video technology, for communications with staff and Regional/Corporate offices, and to produce reports and other documentation as required
