GovTechON (Government Information Technology Ontario), within the Ontario Public Service is led by the Corporate Chief Information Officer (CCIO) and supported by thirteen GovTechON executives which includes the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Reporting to the CCIO, the position of the CISO provides executive leadership, strategic oversight and operational excellence for the Cyber Security in the OPS. The Chief Information Security Officer is responsible for the Cyber Security Division which provides a comprehensive cyber risk management program to predict, identify and address threats to information security and enable the Ontario government to operate securely and meet its digital service delivery commitments. The CISO delivers cyber risk management advice, innovative cyber and digital security solutions to the OPS to enable secure public service delivery in a digital ecosystem.
As the most senior executive for the division, the CISO will lead the division and implement modern cyber security infrastructure and services to enable ministries to mitigate cyber security threat risks, while adopting digital practices and technologies that will deliver simpler, faster, better services to Ontarians. You will work closely and build a partnership with the Ontario Provincial Security Advisor (Ministry of the Solicitor General) to influence and impact security infrastructure, services, and practices across the enterprise. You will empower your teams to prepare for challenges and opportunities as the OPS transforms service delivery by enabling secure digital interactions with citizens and the Broader Public Sector.

Trusted Business Advisor: Provide honest, evidence-based advice to decision-makers and business advice to clients, partners and stakeholders at the executive level. Provide oversight for the development, review and maintenance of the IT operational and cyber-security policies and best practices framework to ensure technical and business excellence, continuous improvement, integrity, controllership, governance, accountability and compliance in the management of the division's own resources, assets, programs and services.
