About the job
You will:
•proofread material for terminology, spelling, grammar, punctuation and correct formatting
•receive, organize and catalogue files and exhibits from hearings held
•transcribe from electronic and handwritten documents
•receive and direct calls from the public
•provide general administrative assistance to adjudicators and the Unit in the production of decisions and orders
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
•You are able to type 50 words per minute
Technical Knowledge
You have:
•knowledge of office administration policies, procedures and practices to provide clerical and administrative support services
•ability to acquire and apply knowledge of OLT's structure, mandate, operations, methods and procedures in order to provide appropriate administrative and secretarial support
•ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act in order to provide accurate written information when preparing routine correspondence
Interpersonal, Oral and Written Communication Skills:
You can:
•edit and prepare documents for accuracy and completeness
•compose documents such as routine correspondence, forms and template notices
•maintain effective relationships with Tribunal members, Executives and deal tactfully with various stakeholders
Organizational and Evaluation Skills:
You can:
•use your organizational, judgement and time management skills to meet deadlines
•determine the urgency of issues
Computer Skills:
You have:
•knowledge and experience using software such as MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel
•ability to use internet and website applications
•ability to acquire knowledge of OLT's case management information system and electronic file and directory management process
