About the job

As a Senior Application Specialist, you will:

• Provide team leadership on larger projects as a member of the team, in the development of solution approach resulting in cost-effective information technology solutions and services.
• Provide technical consulting expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of health applications being implemented to improve data acquisition, information management, and processing and reporting.
• Provide senior technical expertise with the development, implementation, support, maintenance, and operations of cloud and on-premise business applications.
• Lead and participate in the preparation of detailed technical specifications and development for business solutions.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge and Skills

• You have hands on experience in leading the development of highly scalable cloud-based solutions using technologies such as Microservices, API Management and Containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• You have knowledge and hands on experience with leading and delivering business solution as a service on the cloud using concepts like Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• You have demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with various programming languages, development techniques, and development tools, such as Java, .NET, Python, Javascript, React, JSON, REST API, MS SQL and Oracle,
• You have experience in integrating various application components such as Identity and Access Management solutions including Active Directory and LDAP.
• You have the ability to lead teams through end-to-end software development life cycle, including deployment using DevOps tools and agile techniques.
• You have knowledge/experience in code management and change management using Cloud-based tools like GitHub.
• You have demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience in leading application development, including architecture, security, coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and cloud administration.
• You have experience working with Operating Systems such as Linux and Windows.
• You have demonstrated knowledge in conducting feasibility studies, cost benefit and risk analyses on complex business systems initiatives, and in implementing systems solutions.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• You have experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• You have an understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, techniques, methodologies and various architecture domains.
• You have proven analytical and interpretative reasoning skills to assess client I&IT needs and develop I&IT solutions that are cost effective and improve client program and service delivery.
• You have demonstrated ability to lead incident resolution and change management.

Project Management Knowledge and Skills

• You have demonstrated project planning methodologies to plan and coordinate technical activities, plans and schedules of project teams.
• You have knowledge of waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications and solutions.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You have demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution, team building and client relationship management skills to discuss program requirements.
• You have oral and written communication skills to provide information with respect to technical and operational application policies, procedures and standards.
