The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NRF), Program Services Section, seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic, well organized and results-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills to oversee and administer land valuation for a diverse portfolio of Crown land tenure documents, including land-use permits, leases and licences of occupation.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• manage projects associated with the development, implementation and monitoring of Crown land valuation for land disposition;
• develop, improve, implement and monitor valuation for land dispositions and post-disposition programs (i.e. rent review);
• prepare and manage Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) with commercial clients that have long term and extensive Crown land occupations;
• review and monitor submissions for land valuation to ensure consistency with government policies and procedures.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge and Skills

• You have knowledge of and ability to interpret and communicate relevant legislation, practices and principals as they relate to land, real estate and the appraisal process.
• You have analytical, research and problem solving skills to research and monitor land values, rental market value and ensure efficient and effective application of policy and procedures.
• You have experience leading and coordinating large projects.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of standard computer programs and databases to conduct analysis and to prepare reports and presentations.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

• You have the proven ability to employ tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills to negotiate agreements with various stakeholders.
• You have excellent written skills and attention to detail that is required to prepare official documents.
• You have proven liaison, facilitation, networking skills to consult and negotiate with ministry staff, industry and stakeholders regarding the disposition of Crown land.

Planning, Coordination and Organizational Skills

• You have strong time management skills, are deadline oriented and are able to prioritize conflicting demands.
• You have excellent customer service and follow-up abilities, in order to administer a diverse portfolio of land tenure documents.
