The Emergency Health I&IT Solutions & Technology Management Branch delivers and supports solutions for land ambulance communications across the province, manages enterprise I&IT initiatives and provides technology management, security and business continuity planning functions on behalf of the cluster.

About the job

In this key senior management role, you will:
• Manage the delivery of concurrent and specialized business solutions, priority projects, and operations.
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of business and technical professionals in order to deliver an IT environment that meets business requirements and supports continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide comprehensive I&IT investment advice and guidance to customer portfolios and the cluster, including strategic, tactical and operational planning.
•Participate in strategic and results-based planning, and provide expertise and input into cluster level planning and reviews.
•Develop and maintain strong partnerships with customers, partners and service providers across municipal, provincial, and federal governments as well as private sector organizations.
• Support and promote a productive team environment to foster a culture of excellence and creative problem-solving, and sustain an inclusive, diverse and accessible work place.

What you bring to the team


Strategic Leadership Skills:

• You demonstrate senior leadership and people-management experience in support of customer-specific technology needs.
• You have well-developed change management skills to initiate, support, and complete transformational I&IT solutions.
• You are an inclusive leader who values and actively supports a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace.
• You exercise managerial accountability and authority in the areas of program design, recruitment and retention, talent management, labour relations and compensation related matters.

Technical Expertise:

• You have current experience developing and supporting systems, and are successful in delivering business solutions.
• You have expertise in working with your customer(s) to strategically manage I&IT portfolios to support changing business models and business directions.
• You have demonstrated experience managing I&IT projects and achieving on time results which meet the functional and fiscal requirements of the client.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of the current principles, best practices, trends, and issues of I&IT solutions design and delivery.

Program Management Skills:

• You have expertise in structuring, organizing and managing multiple projects, with a proven track record of successful project completion.
• You have the ability to provide expert technical and tactical strategic planning and information management decisions/advice to staff.
• You have knowledge and expertise in project management principles and methodologies to manage the delivery of program plans, initiatives and goals.
• You can effectively anticipate and identify potential risks and issues and lead the development of risk mitigation strategies.

Communication and Stakeholder Relationship Management Skills:

• You use your superior communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to build excellent relationships with your customers and you demonstrate exceptional judgment and political acuity.
• You can build, maintain and strengthen collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and business partnerships.
• You can effectively manage expectations, and anticipate and resolve major obstacles and conflicts.
• You can articulate and prioritize issues and risks to senior executives, executive steering committee members, business sponsors and stakeholders, and recommend mitigation strategies to decision-makers.
