Graphic Designer
This position provides visual communication design expertise to the Office of the Assembly providing a broad range of services in print materials and digital resources while maintaining brand and visual identity standards.
About the job
You'll act with integrity to:- Provide graphic design services to the Office of the Assembly including preparing layouts, designs, artwork and graphic elements for use in publications and print materials.
- Handle creative projects from start to finish including collaborative brainstorming, creative execution, proofing and edits through to final production.
- Interact and meet with clients to discuss project goals, design concepts, vision and expectations.
- Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver a message.
You'll support our collaboration as you:- Design, develop and produce a variety of print and digital resources for the Office of the Assembly.
- Develop corporate brand strategies and ensure the corporate image for the Office of the Assembly is cohesive and consistent by adhering to established visual identity style standards that contain and prescribe the logo usage rules, typeface system, colour palette, layout guidelines, etc.
What you bring to the team
You demonstrate excellence through your:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in graphic design or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience as a graphic designer.
- Knowledge of design principles, print and digital processes, and multimedia design.
- Proficiency in the latest version of Adobe Creative Suite (Windows) especially in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and willingness to learn new technologies as required.
- Experience with video production and editing software and creating digital animation.
- Strong design style and conceptual skills to take a concept from beginning stages to final design.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities within deadlines.
