We are currently recruiting for highly skilled I&IT Project Managers who will plan and lead projects, manage internal client stakeholder relationships, oversee leadership for project teams, and provide guidance and expertise on the use of information technology in client business planning and business improvement initiatives.

About the job

In this role, you will:

• manage all phases of multiple medium to large scale complex I&IT projects
• ensure project deliverables meet clients business requirements on time, within scope and budget and follow Ontario Public Service (OPS) project management methodologies and frameworks
• provide technical leadership and expertise in risk and issues management and in implementing best practices

What you bring to the team


Project Management Knowledge and Experience:

• You demonstrate experience managing all phases of concurrent I&IT projects including medium and large scale, technically complex projects across a range of enterprise technologies.
• You have experience developing and maintaining detailed resource loaded project schedules.
• You have in-depth knowledge of I&IT project management standards, tools, techniques and methodologies, including Project Management Institute (PMI), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), and industry best practices.

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

• You demonstrate knowledge of I&IT technologies, industry trends and offerings to support project deliverables.
• You have technical skills and expertise in contributing project roles.
• You have strong knowledge of financial and controllership management to develop and manage project budgets.
• You have procurement knowledge to support acquisition of software solutions, hardware and services (i.e. business cases, request for information, request for proposals, award, statement of work, etc.).

Communication Skills:

• You have communication, consultation, negotiation and mediation skills, to determine client requirements, make presentations, prepare proposals, business cases and tenders, and write procedures.
• You have persuasion, advisory, and relationship management skills, to explain the risks and benefits of specific solutions, tools and approaches, and to recommend specific courses of action.
• You can resolve conflicts, develop and sustain effective working relationships.

Technical Leadership and Change Management Skills:

• You demonstrate experience in providing technical leadership, training and advice to project teams.
• You are able to provide technical expertise, and develop and manage project plans, budgets and resources successfully.
• You have change management skills to proactively and strategically manage the human factors associated with change.

Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills:

• You can identify I&IT technical, operational or other issues, conduct analyses, and determine most appropriate course of action to resolve them.
• You can assess and mitigate risks, issues and constraints, and recommend action plans.
